What we compare
Merchant acquiring is decided by criteria, not marketing pages
Ecompayer keeps provider criteria structured so your business profile can be compared against them directly, whether you process standard card volume or need high-risk payment processing.
- Payment processors and PSPs
- Payment service providers handle the checkout, payment methods, routing and reporting layer for your transactions. We compare them on supported industries, markets, currencies and volume bands.
- Acquiring banks and merchant acquiring
- An acquirer holds the merchant account and settles card transactions. Acquirer appetite differs by business model, chargeback history and jurisdiction, so matching happens against real criteria.
- High-risk payment processing
- Subscription billing, travel, digital goods, forex, iGaming and other complex models need providers with an explicit risk appetite. We match those profiles instead of sending blanket applications.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
- What is a PSP?
- A payment service provider (PSP) is the company that connects your checkout to the card schemes and alternative payment methods. It handles the technical processing, payment routing, reporting and often risk tooling.
- What is an acquirer?
- An acquiring bank is licensed by the card schemes to hold your merchant account, accept card transactions on your behalf and settle the funds to you. Some PSPs work with several acquirers behind the scenes.
- What is the difference between a PSP and an acquiring bank?
- The PSP provides the technology and commercial relationship; the acquirer carries the licence, the settlement and most of the underwriting risk. Many merchants need both, either bundled by one provider or contracted separately.
- How do I choose a payment processor?
- Compare providers on the criteria that decide acceptance and cost: your industry and business model, registration country and target markets, monthly processing volume, average ticket size, chargeback and refund history, settlement currencies and payout terms.
- Can you help high-risk merchants find payment providers?
- Yes. Complex and high-risk business models are matched against providers that state an appetite for that profile. Ecompayer is a broker and cannot promise approval; the final decision always belongs to the PSP or acquirer.
- What information is used to match my business with payment providers?
- The assessment collects only what matching needs: industry, business model, registration country, target markets, licences, monthly volume, average and maximum ticket size, processing history, chargeback and refund rates. Deeper onboarding details are collected later and nothing is sent to a provider until you submit.
