Licences and Payment Acceptance
A licence tells a provider which activity you are authorised for and which markets you may serve. These pages explain what each authorisation covers and what underwriting focuses on as a result.
Licences
Electronic money institution (EMI)
An electronic money institution is authorised to issue e-money and hold client funds, which places it in a regulated category of its own during payment underwriting: the questions shift from whether the business is legitimate to how client money, safeguarding and financial-crime controls are run.
Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)
For a gaming operator, the licence is the first thing an acquirer looks at, and an MGA licence is one of the most widely recognised: what then decides the outcome is which markets you actually accept players from, because permitted geography, not the licence alone, drives gaming underwriting.

Answer a short set of questions about your business and we will check your profile against the requirements providers have given us. No approval is decided here.
